We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying relevant accessibility standards.

  • We aim to ensure all essential functionality, including purchases, is operable via keyboard in line with WCAG 2.1 / 2.2.
  • Visitors can access and navigate most of our product manuals using a keyboard and modern screen reader.

Policies

UPPAbaby is committed to digital accessibility in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the European Accessibility Act (EAA). While the ADA is a civil rights law and does not prescribe technical standards, our digital accessibility efforts are guided by the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level A & AA and the European standard EN 301 549.

Our accessibility governance model includes:

  • Designating an Accessibility Lead to oversee compliance and improvements.
  • Conducting quarterly accessibility audits of our website and digital assets, using both automated and manual testing methods.
  • Providing regular accessibility training for our development, design, and support teams.
  • Tracking and remediating accessibility issues through our internal defect management system.
  • Requiring all third-party vendors and components, such as cookie consent banners and email signup forms, to meet WCAG 2.1 AA and EN 301 549 standards. Where third-party tools present accessibility barriers, we work with vendors to resolve issues and provide alternative accessible solutions.

We review our accessibility policies and procedures annually and are developing a multi-year accessibility plan, scheduled for approval in 2026, to ensure ongoing progress and accountability.

Non-Accessible Content

It is important to note that efforts to enhance the website are ongoing as we work to implement the relevant updates to meet WCAG 2.2 A/AA guidelines over time. While we continue to make improvements for accessibility and user experience, we are aware of some limitations that currently exist and that we are working to fix. We have included a list below of known limitations and potential solutions; if you encounter an issue not listed below, please contact us to let us know.

Resolved since last update

  • Color contrast of text in promotional content (1.4.3 Contrast [Minimum]): Some text did not meet the contrast requirements between the text and page background colors. This issue was limited to content within promotional blocks on shopping pages. Fixed: Q4 2025
  • Color contrast between text fields and page backgrounds (1.4.3 Contrast [Minimum]): Some text input fields have borders that do not meet color contrast requirements when compared to the page background. Fixed: Q2 2025
  • Clear focus states (2.4.7 Focus Visible): Radio elements on the Vista Configurations module are missing visible changes between default, hover, and focus states. Elements can still be accessed and interacted with, but the visual changes are currently not clear. Fixed: Q3 2025
  • Main navigation dropdown: On smaller screens, the dropdown submenu cannot be scrolled, so content and keyboard focus may be visually hidden from the viewer. Links can still be accessed via keyboard control. Fixed: Q2 2025
  • iframe title attributes and aria attributes (4.1.2 Name, Role, Value; 2.4.6 Headings and Labels): The containers for our email signup and cookie consent banners are not correctly read by screen readers and may have incorrect attributes applied to some of the internal content. These are tools managed by third parties and we have sent requests for addressing these issues to their support and development teams. Fixed: Q2 2025

Known limitations for the UPPAbaby website

  • Interface naming and labeling (1.1.1 Non-text Content; 4.1.2 Name, Role, Value): Some interactive elements have unclear or non-descriptive labels or names. We are currently working on implementing clear, informative labeling on affected buttons and interactive elements. In progress: target completion Q1 2026
  • Search results filters and sortinga (2.1.1 Keyboard): Sorting controls on the search results pages are not navigable by keyboard. In progress: target completion Q1 2026
  • Keyboard focus on modals (2.1.1 Keyboard; 2.1.2 No Keyboard Trap): When a modal popup is triggered, keyboard focus remains on the page behind the modal and navigating to or finding the popup by keyboard is difficult or (in some instances) blocked. In progress: target completion Q1 2026
  • Video player gesture navigation: When a visitor is viewing a page with a video player on a mobile device, they are unable to use gesture navigation to navigate from the player to the next or previous headings on the page. In progress: target completion Q2 2026
  • Audio descriptions and transcripts (1.2.1 Audio-only and Video-only [Prerecorded]; 1.2.3 Audio Description or Media Alternative [Prerecorded]; 1.2.5 Audio Description [Prerecorded]): Some of the videos on this site do not have audio descriptions or text transcripts. In progress: target completion Q2 2026

Third-Party Components

Some features on our website, such as cookie consent banners and email signup forms, are provided by third-party vendors. While we strive to ensure all components meet accessibility standards, there may be instances where third-party tools do not fully comply. In such cases, we actively engage with vendors to address accessibility issues. Where immediate remediation is not possible, we provide equivalent accessible alternatives, such as an accessible cookie preferences page or an alternate signup form, to ensure all users can access essential functions.
